Welcome to Le Rumi Cafe’, a gathering place for people of all cultures and walks of life. Our guest house is named after the world-renowned Rumi, a poet and mystic who was born in the Balkh province of modern-day Afghanistan. Rumi’s impact was far-reaching. He wrote most of his works in Farsi (Persian) and left an impact on the entire South and Central Asian region after his death in 1273. People from Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, and other countries have a deep respect for Rumi’s poems and are proud that Rumi is part of their heritage.

Our family is from Afghanistan, and we have been in the business of catering quality food for generations. Now located in the DMV area. We wish to share with you the hospitality and abundance of our culture. Though the people who come through our doors are from all different walks of life, our hope is that Rumi’s famous poems on love, coexistence, and acceptance will inspire you and make you feel part of our community. Here you may take a seat in our comfortable chairs and unwind with a cup of tea and some snacks, or you may come in for a quick visit to enjoy our delicious food, and for piping hot coffee to start your day on the right foot.

We are also open in the evenings and invite you to bring your friends and family to enjoy our gourmet cuisine and Hookah offerings as you listen to live, local music and slip into meaningful conversations inspired by Rumi, the poet whose works on love reminds us that we are all connected.
